As a Store Stock Associate, you'll be responsible for a wide range of duties, including merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep our store looking its best. Key Responsibilities
- Merchandise and stock product to ensure that our shelves are always fully stocked and faced
- Process customer purchases efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Clean and maintain the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, and restrooms, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees
- Collaborate with our team to achieve sales goals and objectives, and to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Participate in inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise, and monitoring inventory levels to minimize losses
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and loss prevention
Essential Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this role
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our customers and employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred, with a focus on customer service and sales
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge, with a strong understanding of retail operations and customer service principles
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds, with the ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk for long periods of time
- Basic math skills, with the ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and returns
