SENIOR ASSOCIATE, TAX CONTROVERSY

Essential Functions:
- Ability to analyze tax issues and come to conclusions
- Represent clients on IRS Audits
- Manage tax disputes and other complex tax matters
- Work closely with IRS, state and local government agencies on tax resolutions
- Work with clients to prevent and/or abate penalties (late filings, late payments, etc)
- Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality and application of professional and firm standards
- Meet time constraints and deadlines
- Possess technical knowledge sufficient to assist staff associates
- Preparation of complex domestic tax returns
- Participate in firm training courses to further develop technical skills
- Become proficient at tax research including a knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm
Qualifications:
- CPA or EA required
- 3+ years of public accounting and/or the IRS
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Ability to prioritize a heavy work load and remain organized
- Ability to work well in a team environment

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this role is: $90,000-$100,000
Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to education, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
