Role Description As a senior-level engineering role, the Principal Consultant leads large, complex projects spanning multiple disciplines. This individual works with clients, product manufacturers, contractors, other design team members, and TEECOM employees to take each project from start to finish with minimal direction. • Provide detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations • Report information to the client • Delegate work effectively and promote teamwork • Mentor less senior staff • Develop relationships with clients leading to repeat business • Collaborate with Marketing on the pursuit and interview process • Participate in the TEECOMuniversity in-house training program • Mentor junior designers through courses and develop new course content Qualifications • BS in Engineering (electrical preferred) or equivalent experience • Minimum of eight years of discipline (telecom/structured cabling) design for facilities construction projects • Experience with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit) • Proficiency in Bluebeam Studio • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 Suite and G Suite Requirements • Expertise in the AEC industry and design and construction of technology systems • Ability to deliver system designs using an engineering approach • Experience with large and complex construction projects ($500,000+ TEECOM fee) • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects • Excellent documentation skills • Effective communication skills in various settings • Teamwork and collaboration abilities • Problem-solving skills with a methodical approach • Proficiency in software applications (G Suite, MS Office, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, etc.) • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency • Negotiation skills with a focus on win-win outcomes • Emotional intelligence to manage team dynamics • Mentorship capabilities for technical staff • Management skills to break down complex projects Benefits • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents • Basic and voluntary life insurance • Short-term and long-term disability coverage • 401(k) plan with profit-sharing contributions • Paid parental leave • Lifestyle and legal benefits • Pet benefits • Performance-based bonuses • Flexible time off for full-time exempt team members • Nine scheduled paid holidays for all employees
