Anyone can start using Graphite individually without needing their coworkers to change tools - we seamlessly sync code changes and reviews. We started Graphite because we missed internal code review tools like Phabricator (at Facebook) and Critique (Google) that help engineers create, approve, and ship small, incremental changes. We’re passionate about creating products & workflows that help fast-moving eng teams achieve more.
Our company
We’re a small-but-mighty team of 40+ based in Manhattan in the heart of Soho, with a passionate and rapidly growing group of users at top engineering orgs like Datadog, Vercel, Ramp, and Snowflake.
We've raised a $52mil Series B (featured in TechCrunch) led by Christine Esserman, following a previous $20mil Series A from Peter Levine at Andreessen Horowitz (who led GitHub's Series A). About the Role
Graphite is growing rapidly, and we're looking for a design engineer to bring a high level of polish and creative experiences to Graphite.
You’ll work on both the design and implementation of our marketing pages, from graphite.dev to other microsites. You’ll also contribute to the in-product experience, partnering with other engineers to bring your creative concepts into the product.
This role combines design and engineering, and the exact responsibilities are flexible to your strengths and interests. As one of the first design engineers, you’ll help shape the role and define the future of design engineering at Graphite. Above all, this role is best suited for someone excited about both exploring beautiful experiences and technologies to bring them to life.
Rethinking the way fast-moving eng teams write and review code every day is no small feat, and we believe that the best solutions are built when the most talented, ambitious, and dedicated people from diverse backgrounds come together.
What you’ll do
Own the implementation of the visual experience for our marketing efforts across surfaces (www, blog, docs, micro sites)
Collaborate with our brand designer, marketing team, other design engineers on concepts and ideas for our marketing pages and new campaigns
Explore creative improvements that uplevel the Graphite product experience, and directly implement these alongside our product engineers
Champion and evolve the design culture and processes at Graphite
What we’re looking for
Industry experience shipping intricate interactive visual experiences
An ability to identify problems, build alignment, and implement solutions autonomously
A passion for designing beautiful and performant experiences, and perfectionism in building them
Strong frontend programming skills and expertise, preferably web UI development
Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and Sass. Bonus if you have experience with Canvas or Three.js
