Fully Remote Part-Time The Retirement Transition Partner focuses primarily on the human and administrative aspects of a Team Member moving from active employment to retirement by providing supportive resources. This role blends Team Member education, research and program development to ensure we’re offering the best-in-class retirement experience. This position does not provide financial or investment advice. Instead, it offers education and general guidance and refers Team Members to licensed professionals as appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Guidance and Support: • Serve as a dedicated internal point of contact to help support and guide Team Members transitioning from active employment to retirement • Guide Team Members through the official MWG retirement process, ensuring all paperwork is submitted accurately and on time, and coordinating with payroll and HR teams. • Assisting managers and the retiring Team Member in creating a formal transition plan for their role, which includes documenting key processes, identifying unfinished work, and training successors to ensure business continuity and mitigate knowledge loss. • Retirement Resources: • Guide Team Members to available resources through our 401(k) provider, including online tools and access to licensed financial advisors. • Provide clear information about continuing health benefits (Early Retiree Plans, COBRA eligibility and Medicare interaction), 401(k) distribution options, and how other benefits (life insurance, etc.) may change post-retirement - without offering personal health plan advice. • Provide psychosocial support to Team Members by providing access to tools and resources that help Team Members explore non-financial aspects of retirement • Partner internally with Benefits, Learning & Development, and DEI teams to ensure retirement planning is inclusive, equitable, and aligned with MWG’s broader Team Member experience efforts. • Program Research & Development: • Conduct research on progressive benefits programs, such as phased retirement models that support gradual transitions and knowledge transfer, sabbatical or other programs. • Build business cases and partner with People & Culture leadership to assess feasibility and value of new programs • Gather feedback from retirees and near retirees to continuously improve retirement education and planning resources • Legislation/Compliance: • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of retirement-related legislation, best practices, and company specific programs. • Stay up to date with evolving best practices in retirement transition from progressive and inclusive organizations. • Ongoing Team Member Education: • Partner with internal benefits team and external partners to support the design, communication, and delivery of retirement-ready workshops, financial literacy and financial wellness programs for Team Members at all stages of their careers. • Introduce earlier-career Team Members to retirement savings concepts and the long-term benefit of 401(k) contributions. • Help to identify topics of interest for Team Members (e.g. budgeting, debt management, investing basics and tailor programming accordingly. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in simple accessible language. • Ability to develop strong working relationships and collaborate with a cross-functional group or partners, both internal and external • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills/planning/organizational techniques are essential • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel reporting skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team at all levels within the organization • Good organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize • Strong attention to details • Ability to identify then implement process improvements that incorporate best practices and automated efficiencies • Familiarity with ERISA compliance and the boundaries between education and advice. EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES • Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years of experience in retirement planning, benefit administration, or related financial role • Or High School diploma and 12 years of experience in retirement planning, benefit administration, or related financial role • Experience in program curriculum development and/or implementation of educational programs. • Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree or Certified Benefits Professional At AAA Mountain West Group, pay is one part of our total package.
