Responsibilities
• File and reconcile complex payroll tax returns for Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA
• Research payroll/tax system issues and provide recommendations to management
• Train and mentor co-workers on tax reporting processes
• Participate in the W-2 process
• Recommend and lead the implementation of process improvements
• Research and review payroll tax regulation changes for potential impacts
Skills
• At least 5 years of experience in paying and filing payroll tax returns, including Federal, State, SUI, Local, and FUTA
• Proficiency in Peoplesoft Payroll Tax and ADP Master Tax systems
• Advanced Excel skills, including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables
• Strong knowledge of tax law and accounting principles
• Attention to detail and strong critical thinking abilities
• Proficiency in conducting tax research
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Effective mentoring abilities
• Strong time management skills
• High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience, OR Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience
• Experience in recognizing and implementing process improvements
