Job Summary
As a Medical Records Transcriptionist and Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for transcribing radiology reports, managing patient records, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures, excellent typing skills, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities
- Transcription of Radiology Reports: Transcribe radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports, including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, and other imaging modalities.
- Patient Record Management: Update patient records with breast density, follow-up dates, surgical follow-ups, and physical charts.
- Draft Review and Editing: Review and edit drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports.
- Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records.
- Time Management: Prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times.
- Medical Knowledge: Stay updated with medical terminology and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Proven Experience: Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures.
- Transcription Skills: Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools.
- Typing Skills: Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology.
