Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher - Multilingual Learning - Grade 7 to join our team at Norwalk Public Schools. As a co-teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction to students in a multicultural and multilingual environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in Grade 7, focusing on multilingual learning and co-teaching
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and styles
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters engagement and academic achievement
- Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and support
- Collaborate with colleagues and other educational professionals to ensure student success
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
- Active TESOL K-12 (111) or Bilingual Certification (009)
- Expertise in writing instruction and language development
- Proven experience in co-teaching, progress monitoring, and collaborative settings
- Strong knowledge of best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment development aligned to the Common Core State Standards
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
