Job Summary
As a Strategy & Analytics Consultant, you will be responsible for providing research and analysis to support the development of new strategies, processes, and reports. You will leverage your technical skills, industry knowledge, and analytical expertise to drive business decisions, solve complex problems, and improve operational performance. This role requires a deep understanding of airline operations, data analysis, and industry trends, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide research and analysis of trends to support the development of new strategies, processes, and reports
- Improve and share available data tools with various teams across the organization
- Leverage technical skills (SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, Tableau, Big Data Concepts) and industry data to provide answers to business requests
- Transform raw data into easily understood, presentable, and actionable findings
- Develop and improve models and strategies, including supporting their downstream implementation
- Facilitate and share technical guidance on ideas and topics to teams across the organization
- Conduct analysis using optimization and other available tools to create and examine scenarios providing insights into how different ideas perform
- Utilize appropriate data management practices, including privacy standards
- Perform various project duties as directed by leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills. The ideal candidate will have:
- Working knowledge of Southwest Airlines operations
- Knowledge of SQL (Oracle, Teradata, PostgreSQL)
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative, demonstrate ownership, and accountability
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to interpret data, draw implications, and adjust the analysis process as required
- Ability to comprehend and manage optimization software and other available tools
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Advanced level experience in Network Planning or Airline Operations
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and presentation
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in providing analysis and insights to Senior Leaders
- Familiarity with data manipulation and visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau)
