Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

- Develop strong relationships with key customers and resolve customer issues and inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring data is entered accurately, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication is accurate.
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty, and adhering to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors.
- Handle telephone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist, process (corrects and resubmits) secondary claims for third-party prescription services, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
- Assist and support the Pharmacy department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs.
- May help pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens.
- Desirable math skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory management.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification.
