A Day in the Role
As a Remote Healthcare Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in processing various medical documents, including Independent Medical Reviews. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Extracting data from medical documents and entering it into our electronic database via Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word
- Working independently and in partnership with other team members to ensure that questions are addressed, documented, and cases are returned in a timely fashion
- Using critical thinking steps to determine next steps and reaching out to clients via phone to obtain missing information
- Providing exceptional customer service and client coordination over the phone, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring data quality and integrity
- Working in a metrics/quota driven environment, meeting productivity and quality standards
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- At least 1 year of remote work experience, with a proven track record of working independently and managing your time effectively
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and data analysis
- Previous experience working in a metrics-based environment, with a focus on data entry, customer service, or client coordination
- Experience in the healthcare industry, insurance, or claims is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, with excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
- Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated computer or laptop (no Chromebooks), with a secure and quiet workspace
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as healthcare administration, medical records, or health information technology
- Certification in medical records or health information technology, such as RHIT or CCA
- Experience working with electronic medical records systems, such as Epic or Cerner
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders
