- Hosting study session hours each week, ensuring all students have the opportunity to participate and receive additional support when needed.
- Creating supplemental instructional materials, such as videos, to clarify lab setups or fill instructional gaps as necessary.
- Assisting instructors in grading assigned work, providing detailed feedback to students, and ensuring grades are posted promptly to the learning management system.
- Upholding child safety protocols to ensure a secure and respectful learning environment for all students.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience as a high school teacher in a STEM discipline, demonstrating excellent classroom management skills and the ability to relate complex concepts to students.
- Availability to teach from June 26 to July 28, Monday through Friday, with each class meeting synchronously for a single 3-hour block at the same time each day.
- Familiarity with Canvas or similar Learning Management Systems (LMS), as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom or similar video conferencing software.
- Access to a remote/virtual work environment for training prior to the course and throughout its duration.
