About the Position
This Educational Aid position is a part-time role, working 70 hours per bi-weekly pay period. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting teachers and students in a classroom setting, performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of educational activities. This includes distributing and collecting testing materials, grading tests, monitoring students during lessons and activities, preparing instructional materials, and providing tutoring to students in all subject areas. Additionally, the Educational Aid will accompany and supervise students on field trips, ensuring their safety and engagement in extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribute and collect testing materials as needed by students, ensuring that all necessary resources are available for assessments and evaluations.
- Grade tests and provide testing results using identified scoring techniques, maintaining accurate records of student performance.
- Monitor students during various phases of the school day, including lessons, activities, and breaks, to ensure their safety and engagement.
- Prepare instructional materials related to classroom lessons, supporting teachers in the delivery of high-quality education.
- Provide tutoring to students in all subject areas, offering individualized support to help students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
- Accompany and supervise students on field trips, ensuring their safety and facilitating their learning in different environments.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet specific qualifications and requirements. These include:
- U.S. Citizenship, with proof required as part of the application process.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- A background investigation is required, with this position subject to a suitability/fitness determination.
- A Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks is necessary due to the interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years.
Essential Qualifications
In terms of experience and education, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- At least one year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of an Educational Aid. This experience can be in progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed for the role.
- Education may be substituted for general experience with 2 years (60 semester hours) of education above high school.
- A combination of education and general experience may also be used to qualify for this position, as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
