Job Overview
As a Customer Engineer at Google, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional technical support and solutions to our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver product messaging to highlight Google Cloud Platform offerings and unique differentiators
- Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and model integrations in customer/partner environments
- Investigate and make recommendations on integration strategies, project designs, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution successfully
- Attend customer sites, meetings, and other related events up to 25% of the time, as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve customer satisfaction
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Google Cloud products and services, as well as industry trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong technical background and excellent communication skills. The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering or a related field, with a focus on cloud computing and technical sales
- Experience with technical sales designing in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role
- Knowledge of legacy and current application development, cloud service delivery, and deployment
- Experience with containers and related technologies
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum requirements, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience with advanced areas of networking, Linux, SDN, virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration, load balancing, DNS, VPNs, and their application to PaaS/IaaS technologies
- Experience developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice architectures, and PaaS, and container orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, etc.)
- Experience with cloud-native software development processes and tools for application development/deployment platforms (e.g., CI/CD)
- Experience with logging/monitoring of hybrid cloud environments
- Ability to learn and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space
