Job Description
As a 4th-grade teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all students are engaged, motivated, and challenged to achieve academic excellence. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators to develop and implement curriculum, assess student progress, and identify areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and maintain positive relationships and high expectations for student learning
- Design and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of students, including lesson plans, individualized instruction, and diverse learning styles
- Develop and guide learning in partnership with students, including classroom mission and learning goals, strategies, and processes
- Evaluate individual student and class performance, analyzing assessment data and adjusting instruction to improve student learning
- Implement current best practice instruction and resources, focusing on student needs and goals, classroom priorities, and state and district standards
- Maintain documentation and required reports, including student data and reports, personal teaching certification, and compliance with site, district, policy, administrative, state, and/or federal statutes and regulations
- Manage classroom structure and procedures, establishing a positive, safe, and orderly optimal learning environment that supports students in achieving classroom and individual goals
- Model positive behaviors, promoting appropriate social and interpersonal behavior in alignment with district goals
- Oversee assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student workers, ensuring the operation of an effective and efficient classroom structure
- Participate in meetings, including team and/or building meetings, professional growth opportunities, parent/teacher conferences, and other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Current Louisiana teacher certification
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators
- Strong commitment to student learning, academic excellence, and social responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a related field
- Experience teaching 4th grade or similar grade levels
- Knowledge of technology integration, including educational software and hardware
- Experience with project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
