Job Purpose
As a Customer Service Professional at Veritiv, you will play a critical role in building customer loyalty and confidence by receiving and processing customer orders, inquiries, and issues. You will be responsible for maintaining ongoing relationships with multiple customers and sales staff, utilizing your knowledge of products, logistics, production planning, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist front-line supervisor in achieving targets in areas such as productivity and turnaround times by providing customer experience support.
- Handle complex and valuable issues for assigned book of business, building customer loyalty and confidence.
- Strengthen relationships with sales teams by training and implementing new processes, policies, and procedures.
- Lead team initiatives, train, and mentor other team members, and be recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on common Veritiv procedures and software.
- Take on special project work and complete timely order processing, confirmations, order tracking/status updates, and product availability.
- Work effectively with all functional areas (sales, ops, finance, etc.) to satisfy customer needs and manage resolution of pricing, invoicing, credits, payments, and shipping discrepancies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a customer-centric approach.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 3-5 years of related job experience in customer service or a similar field.
- A High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Proficient computer and technical skills, with the ability to learn new systems and software.
- Excellent decision-making skills and independent judgment, with the ability to manage customer challenges in a professional and decisive manner.
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills, with minimal supervision.
- The ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications

- Customer service experience in a similar industry or company.
- Experience with Veritiv procedures and software.
- A proven track record of building strong customer relationships and driving customer loyalty.
