Consulting Associate, Engineer

As an entry-level engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing and implementing solutions that help our clients meet environmental and regulatory challenges. Responsibilities - Support civil and environmental engineering projects that influence energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors - Contribute to site/civil design, stormwater engineering, remediation, erosion control, and water management initiatives - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—planners, scientists, and engineers—to deliver innovative solutions locally and globally - Work remotely/hybrid while maintaining clear communication on schedules, deliverables, and tasks - Assist in civil/environmental design and support for projects including: - Site plans - Erosion and sediment control plans - Stormwater management plans - Permit application preparation - Participate in field work, sampling, construction monitoring, and reporting - Manage multiple fast-paced projects across diverse geographies - Ensure compliance with ERM’s world-class Health and Safety Program Skills - Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience - 0–2 years of experience - Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite - Ability to research and prepare technical memorandums, field reports, and report sections - Detail-oriented with strong communication skills for effective collaboration - Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area - This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship - Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or current registration for the F.E. exam - Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS Software, and/or Hydraflow/HydroCAD - Prior internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering - Willingness to travel for field work Benefits - Paid time off - Parental leave - Medical - Dental - Vision - Life - Disability - AD&D insurance - 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP Company Overview - ERM is a provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, social consulting and sustainability related services.
