Job Summary
We're seeking an accomplished Chief Architect to lead the design and execution of Wayfair's Global Payments and Fintech Platform, including our Worldwide Dependability, Installments, Funding, and Extortion stage and experiences across all of our retail marks (Wayfair, Perigold, AllModern, Joss and Fundamental, Birch Path) and geologies (presently 5 nations and growing to 15+ throughout the next few years). As a Chief Architect, you'll play a critical role in designing and building a top-notch, global platform that provides a great transactional experience for our customers and suppliers while managing any exchange risk and the total cost of payment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead in the critical space, planning and building a platform that interfaces with a wide range of systems inside and outside Wayfair and partner worldwide
- Assume a vital role in creating and driving a long-term innovation strategy for Wayfair's Fintech and Devotion environment
- Design and review code to carry out excellent, adaptable, future-proof benefits that will have powerful framework limits and will support long-term vision and methodology
- Lead technical discussions across a whole platform and help reach solid recorded resolutions
- Drive high-influence engineering solutions and involved development, including initiation, design, execution, and delivery following great design and coding practices
- Fanatically focus on production availability for the team, including testing, checking, arrangement, documentation, and proactive investigating
- Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose solutions to meet the division's technical vision
- Influence and contribute to the office's system and guide
- Support the growth of different architects in fact by coaching, matching, and creating different opportunities for training
- Be remotely recognized as a cooperative and sound informed authority for the more extensive group's core region
Essential Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in engineering, with a preference for candidates with a blend of start-up and large organization experience
- Good to have: Installments engineering area expertise, particularly experience with larger-scale reconciliations (charge cards, supporting, BNPL, applications)
- E-commerce or client-facing technology experience on a high-traffic site is also a significant plus
- Active experience driving software changes within high-growth environments at scale
- Experienced in architecting and constructing large-scale, cloud-based technology
- Excellent relational skills with experience driving teams forward and capacity to influence results

- Experience with cloud-native technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure) at scale
- Distributed systems experience
