CIVCO Medical Solutions is seeking an Upstream Product Manager to drive strategic innovation and product development for our ultrasound-based specialty device portfolio. Exciting innovation is expected in our existing markets (urology, women’s health, radiology, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and probe disinfection procedures) as well as new and growing ultrasound-guided procedure markets.
The Upstream Product Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding and modernizing our product portfolio by building and managing a strong ideation and innovation pipeline. This individual will focus on translating unmet clinical needs into commercially successful new products. The ideal candidate will bring deep market and clinical insights and have a passion for identifying opportunities that shape the future of ultrasound-guided procedures and deliver meaningful clinical and business impact.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Product Leadership
- Construct an upstream product development roadmap aligned with CIVCO’s innovation and growth objectives.
- Build and maintain an innovation pipeline from product concept to project activation, ensuring a continuous flow of high-potential opportunities.
- Lead opportunity assessments, voice-of-customer research, and early feasibility studies for new product concepts.
Market Insight & Trend Analysis
- Conduct ongoing market, technology, and competitive landscape analyses within ultrasound-guided procedure markets, including urology, women’s health, radiology, POCUS, and probe disinfection.
- Identify emerging trends in ultrasound systems, probe technologies, and procedural workflows that impact CIVCO’s strategic direction.
Customer & KOL Engagement
- Establish and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and strategic clinical partners to guide ideation and validate new concepts.
- Facilitate advisory boards, customer interviews, and clinical observation sessions to uncover unmet procedural needs and workflow improvements.
- Represent CIVCO Medical Solutions at trade shows, conferences, and symposia for ongoing personal education and to maintain deep awareness of the ultrasound device market trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with CIVCO’s product strategy organization, business development, and R&D to translate market opportunities into clear business cases and product requirements.
- Support portfolio prioritization decisions through robust financial modeling, customer insight, and market potential analysis.

What Skills You Need
- Minimum 7 years’ Experience in Medical Device or Ultrasound-Based Product Management, Upstream Product Marketing, or Product Development. Deeply familiar with product management strategy and new product development. Has a keen sense for product desirability that addresses unmet needs. Demonstrated ability to drive innovative pipelines and launch high-revenue products.
- Strategic Acumen and Market Validation. Proven success in building business cases and assessing new product opportunities with evidence-based justification (market data, industry trends, competitive intelligence, voice of customer, etc.).
- Customer Intimacy and Clinical Acumen. Knows how to “think like a customer”, hear customer feedback objectively, and make recommendations in the best interest of CIVCO’s customers. Understands clinical workflows of image-guided procedures intimately. Comfortable with clinical data and leading KOL discussions.
- Bold and courageous thinker, but clear and impactful communicator. Has an innate tendency to think “How could this be done?” instead of “This cannot be done”. Sees the possibility in every unique and wild idea. Enjoys evangelizing a vision and can articulate that vision with clarity and conviction to other stakeholders. Exceptionally good at simplifying the complex.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and with minimal guidance. Capable of turning large initiatives into small, daily tasks with clear goals, and holding oneself accountable. Has a strong ability to be a self-starter with clear initiative and ownership.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Prior clinical or industry-based ultrasound experience.
- Prior experience with single-use procedural medical devices and consumable products.
- Working knowledge of hospital environments including organizational structures and administration.
- Global / international business experience.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with demonstrated willingness to learn and incorporate AI-tools into daily work.
Additional Requirements
- Willing, able, and committed to travel up to 30%. Consistent time spent with customers is essential.
- Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements for all healthcare systems (including COVID-19 vaccine, where required).

The anticipated compensation for this role includes an annualized base salary range of $110,000 - $165,000 plus a 20% variable incentive compensation target. The provided base salary range is used nationally. The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
