Commercial Operations Manager Substation Division
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to lead, oversee, and optimize commercial operations within our Substation Division. This strategic role integrates business development, contract management, financial oversight, marketing, and market intelligence to drive profitability, mitigate risk, and strengthen competitive positioning.
This position is ideal for a commercially focused leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and execution in a complex, technical environment.
What Youll Do:
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute commercial strategies that drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and market expansion.
- Lead and develop staff in accordance with company policies through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Establish scalable, efficient commercial processes that support growth and improve client responsiveness.
Commercial Operations & Process Optimization
- Streamline, document, and enhance commercial workflows to improve efficiency and execution.
- Enable and optimize sales, pricing, contracts, and customer engagement processes through data, analytics, and compliance alignment.
- Ensure integration and coordination between commercial teams and operational execution.
Financial Planning & Oversight
- Develop and refine business plans, annual budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Implement and monitor division-specific financial controls and operational processes.
- Ensure accurate invoicing, financial tracking, and reporting across all commercial engagements.
- Lead pricing strategy development, margin improvement initiatives, and financial reporting practices.
Business Development & Market Intelligence
- Support sales development activities, opportunity tracking, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Identify and recommend new market entry strategies and partnership opportunities.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics related to business development, profitability, contract compliance, and marketing effectiveness.
Contract Management & Risk Mitigation
- Establish and manage a centralized contract repository, tracking contract status, risks, and compliance obligations.
- Ensure strong contract governance, compliance, and risk assessment practices.
Executive Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare detailed and executive-level financial and commercial performance reports.
- Develop and deliver presentations that clearly communicate financial performance, trends, and strategic outlook.
- Professionally represent the Substation Division internally and externally, strengthening relationships with customers, vendors, and MEPPI partners.
What You Bring:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sales, commercial operations, or business development.
- At least 3 years of management experience, leading teams and complex initiatives.
- Skills & Expertise:
- Advanced experience in contract negotiation and contract management.
- Proven ability to develop and execute commercial strategies.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, pricing, and performance metrics.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and financial analysis tools.
