Job description: Job Purpose: Develops labor standards, develops manufacturing process, reviews equipment, attends design reviews, performs production personnel training, manufacturing oversight, machine programming, and projects as assigned, in an metal fabrication environment
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for metal fabrication manufacturing process. To include: machining, punch, laser, forming, finishing and assembly
• Implementation of engineering designs into the metal fabrication processes
• Creates and documents work standards, routings, and processes
• Recommends purchase of equipment and tooling to produce product and/or improve costs and/or throughput
• Participates in the ECO process to properly coordinate and implement engineering changes in manufacturing
• Assist management in creating and conducting formal procedures, inquiries and investigations to determine the cause of quality problems and provide/recommend verbal and/or written corrective action
• Executes project work to include feasibility studies; equipment specification, design, justification and implementation; material handling / packaging requirements, manufacturing systems and procedures, and process documentation
• Relates manufacturing capabilities, preferences and limitations to design engineers, quality control engineers and cost accounting
• Maintain orderliness of product, equipment, tools, supplies, part handling, preventative maintenance and inventory points within manufacturing (7S Initiatives)
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with ESD, PPE procedures, work rules, and regulations
• Operate per established Company Policies and Procedures
• Other tasks as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in a related manufacturing engineer position
• 5 to 10 years industrial engineering or related industry with metal fabrication experienced required
• Experience and training with Amada equipment (Laser and brake) a plus
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 and 7S a plus
• Organizational skills, time management skills, good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of Basic Computer Usage and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point and Excel)
• Ability to work effectively in an office, laboratory, and manufacturing environment
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
