About the position
Nordstrom is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst that is customer focused, data-driven, organized, and with a high level of curiosity to join our Stores Finance Capital team. This person will provide exceptional data driven analytics and cross-functional partnership to our Capital business partners, as well as support continuous planning and forecasting, P&L analysis and reporting, and perform ad hoc requests for key investments in our new and existing store portfolios . This role is Hybrid - 4 days per week in our downtown Seattle office is required.
Responsibilities
• Support the capital management process through continuous forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning
• Track and communicate capital performance through reporting on a regular (i.e. monthly and quarterly) basis to ensure transparency and accountability
• Manage the monthly store lease renewal / relocation / closure approval processes
• Partner with cross-functional teams (real estate, construction, operations, design, facilities, FP&A, accounting) in planning and analyzing capital spend, anticipating future business challenges and opportunities, and effectively communicating capital scenarios
• Use a variety of data sources to enhance and build detailed financial models to track and analyze KPIs, uncover trends, and drive actionable outcomes
• Analyze results of past investments across the Stores’ organization to identify trends and provide recommendations on shifts in spend to ensure positive ROI
• Identify areas for improvement, efficiencies, and automation around current processes, reporting, and financial systems. Streamline. Standardize. Simplify.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as assigned, synthesize, and clearly communicate findings to support executive leadership-level decisions
Requirements
• BA/BS Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Capital asset, lease management, real estate experience, or 5+ years of related experience
• Proven experience in corporate financial metrics and analytical methods, scenario modeling, and reporting financial performance, with a strong sense of curiosity and a proactive nature
• Excellent MS Excel abilities, including the ability to use formulas, functions, and pivot tables, and experience in building driver-based proforma models that are flexible, scalable, and transferable
• Attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy a must
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines and independently develop processes and deliverables
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with Anaplan, Oracle, Hyperion-Essbase, Tableau, and MicroStrategy a plus
