We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate Social Media Specialist II to discover, develop, and distribute engaging content across ESPN's social media platforms. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the live window shift, covering a variety of sports across social media platforms, and collaborating with colleagues to create compelling and platform-appropriate content. Responsibilities: Create high-quality, engaging content (visual, video, text) optimized for social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, and X. Edit and approve social posts for journalistic accuracy, audience relevance, and tone, including real-time decision-making during breaking news and hard news stories. Analyze metrics performance of social content and incorporate insights into future content decisions. Lead brainstorms and ideation sessions on various topics important to the team, and generate new ideas for building account engagement and growth. Support colleagues in creating compelling and platform-appropriate content, and regularly use social data to inform content decisions. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced social media environment with content creation responsibilities or relevant experience. Minimum 2 years of experience using video editing software (e.g., Final Cut, Adobe Premiere) and photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign). Skilled in social media comprehension and execution across multiple social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and X. Possess excellent news judgment and verbal/written communication skills, with a strong understanding of journalistic standards. Ability to work quickly and juggle multiple tasks during a typical workday, with a strong appreciation and understanding of popular culture. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated news judgment and experience using video editing software (e.g., Final Cut, Premiere) and photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign). Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field.
