Job Title Senior AWS Cloud Architect Location- Dallas, Texas Job Summary We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior AWS Cloud Architect with 10-15 years of hands-on experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to design, lead, and govern large-scale, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. The role demands deep expertise in AWS architecture, strong technical leadership, and the ability to align cloud solutions with business objectives. Multi‑cloud experience is an added advantage, particularly with Microsoft Azure. Mandatory skills: AWS Architecture, Cloud Security, Cloud Migration, Infrastructure Automation & Cost Optimization Key Responsibilities AWS Architecture & Strategy Define and own enterprise AWS cloud architecture and strategy Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost‑optimized AWS solutions Lead cloud adoption, migration, and modernization initiatives (re‑host, re‑platform, re‑architect) Establish AWS Landing Zones, multi‑account strategies, and governance frameworks Define architecture standards, best practices, and reference architectures Technical Leadership Act as the AWS architecture authority across enterprise and client engagements Review and approve AWS solution designs and key technical decisions Mentor cloud architects, engineers, and DevOps teams Conduct architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical governance sessions AWS & Multi‑Cloud Technologies Architect solutions using AWS services including: Compute: EC2, Auto Scaling, ECS, EKS, Lambda Networking: VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Elastic Load Balancers Storage & Data: S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift Security: IAM, KMS, WAF, Shield, GuardDuty, Security Hub Leverage Azure knowledge (Virtual Machines, VNets, AKS, Azure AD, Azure SQL, Storage) for multi‑cloud or hybrid scenarios Design hybrid and multi‑cloud architectures integrating AWS, Azure, and on‑premises environments Security, Compliance & Governance Implement security‑by‑design and Zero Trust principles Define IAM strategies, least‑privilege access, encryption, and compliance controls Drive governance using AWS Organizations, SCPs, and security policies Ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards DevOps, Automation & Observability Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation Enable CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native and third‑party DevOps tools Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using CloudWatch, X‑Ray, and centralized logging platforms Cost Optimization & Reliability Apply FinOps best practices for AWS cost optimization and chargeback models Drive performance optimization, capacity planning, and reliability engineering Ensure solutions align with the AWS Well‑Architected Framework Stakeholder & Business Engagement Collaborate with business leaders, security teams, and delivery organizations Translate business requirements into AWS‑first, multi‑cloud‑aware architectures Support pre‑sales, RFPs, and client solutioning initiatives Required Skills & Experience Experience 10-15 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud architecture Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale AWS platforms and transformations Strong experience in cloud migration, modernization, and cloud‑native development Multi‑cloud experience (AWS + Azure) is a strong added advantage Technical Skills Expert‑level knowledge of AWS services, networking, and security Good working knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture and services Strong understanding of microservices, containers, and cloud‑native design patterns Experience with DevOps, automation, and CI/CD pipelines Soft Skills Strong architectural and analytical thinking Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proven leadership, mentoring, and decision‑making abilities Certifications (Strongly Preferred) AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional AWS Security Specialty / DevOps Engineer (Good to have) Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Added Advantage) TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework (Optional) Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future* Benefits: Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance Paid holidays plus Paid Time Off 401(k) plan and contributions Long-term/Short-term Disability Paid Parental Leave Employee Stock Purchase Plan Disclaimer: The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
