Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable data systems and pipelines using Scala, Python, and other programming languages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions that meet those needs.
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines in big data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Implement Lakehouse engineering principles to create a unified data platform that supports data warehousing, data lakes, and data science.
- Work with data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts to design, execute, and deliver effective data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance.
- Ensure high functional proficiency and quality of solutions to meet SLAs and support obligations to our clients (Data Science, Data Analytics teams).
- Participate in agile/scrum practices to ensure team health and collaboration.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong algorithmic thinking skills and experience with data modeling and data warehousing.
- Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries to extract data and build performant datasets.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS (S3, EMR, EC2), and big data technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, and Databricks.
- Strong programming skills in Scala, Python, and Java, with experience in data engineering and data science.
- Experience with data integration toolsets, such as Apache Beam, and data pipelines with Databricks.
- Knowledge of Scrum and agile methodologies, with experience in collaborative team environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Experience with machine learning and data science frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles, with experience in data validation and data cleansing.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as Azure, Google Cloud, and IBM Cloud.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
