[Remote] Network Software Development QA Specialist

The role involves ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of network-related software through designing and executing test plans, as well as collaborating with various teams to enhance product quality. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for network software components, including communication protocols, data transfer mechanisms, and network configurations • Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing of network-enabled software applications and embedded systems • Identify, document, and track software defects using established bug tracking systems, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution • Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and product managers to understand system requirements, network architecture, and design specifications • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements review to release • Analyze test results, generate comprehensive test reports, and provide clear recommendations for product improvement • Stay up-to-date with emerging network technologies, industry standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7, FHIR), and best practices in software quality assurance • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies Skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field • 6 + years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on network-related software testing • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/S, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.) • Experience with network diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump, network sniffers) • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for test automation • Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM) and bug tracking systems • Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Windows) and virtualization technologies • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry, including knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., DICOM, HL7, HIPAA), is a significant plus • Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus Benefits • Medical • Dental • Vision • Paid time off • A 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities • Life • Disability • Accident insurance • Tuition reimbursement Company Overview • GE Healthcare provides a wide range of medical technologies and services to healthcare providers and researchers.
