The Auto Telephone Claims Representative is responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for automobile accidents, determining coverage and liability, and negotiating claims within their authority.
Responsibilities
- For claims involving fraud or subrogation, partners with assigned reps from those areas to achieve best outcome
- Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding of other potential property damage
- Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
- Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle
- Applies intermediate understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
- Handles investigation regarding all aspects of auto claims (coverage, damages, subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority
Skills
- Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for basic to advanced automobile accidents
- Determining coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusting and negotiating claims within limit of authority
- Partnering with assigned reps from fraud or subrogation areas to achieve best outcome
- Recognizing and identifying body parts of a vehicle and understanding of other potential property damage
- Identifying customer needs and working to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
- Determining subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle
- Applying intermediate understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
- Handling investigation regarding all aspects of auto claims (coverage, damages, subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority
- Bilingual English/Spanish is desired but not required
