Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Project Accountant to join its rapidly growing team. The role involves managing job costing and Percentage of Completion accounting while ensuring accurate project setup and financial reporting in the ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Review booking documents and set up new projects, change orders, and service agreements accurately and on time in the ERP system
- Process changes in estimates for active projects accurately and on time in the ERP system
- Close out projects in ERP system upon completion
- Assist with preparation and review of WIP analysis after each payroll cycle
- Review and validate monthly charges to active projects and resolve discrepancies
- Enter time charged to jobs from weekly timesheets
- Complete special department projects as directed
- Adhere to all company policies and protocols
- Assist in month end close; other special projects as needed
Skills
- Up to two years of job costing and/or percentage of completion accounting experience
- Teamwork-oriented
- Must be detail-oriented and able to follow through independently
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to make routine judgments and decisions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with accounting software (MS Dynamics preferred or Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to construct formulas with accurate syntax, using advanced functions, and pivot tables
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, or finance
