Job Title: PeopleSoft Finance Project Manager
Location: Remote / California (as applicable)
Employment Type: Contract (6 month 12 months)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Finance Project Manager to lead a campus implementation of PeopleSoft Finance. The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing PeopleSoft Financials projects , with prior CFS (Common Financial System) implementation experience strongly preferred.
This role requires strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and hands-on knowledge of PeopleSoft Finance modules, CSU business processes, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
• Lead end-to-end PeopleSoft Finance implementation for a CSU campus transitioning from Oracle eBiz to PeopleSoft Finance
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Drive project governance, status reporting, and executive communications
• Ensure adherence to CSU standards, policies, and CFS-aligned best practices
Stakeholder & Campus Coordination
• Act as primary liaison between CSU campus stakeholders, Chancellor's Office (as applicable), system integrators, and vendors
• Facilitate steering committee meetings, project reviews, and decision-making forums
• Coordinate with functional leads (AP, GL, AR, Asset Management, Billing, Commitment Control, etc.)
Functional & Technical Oversight
• Oversee functional and technical workstreams, including:
• Requirements gathering and fit-gap analysis
• Configuration, customization, and integration strategy
• Testing phases (Unit, SIT, UAT)
• Cutover planning and go-live support
• Ensure alignment with CFS architecture if applicable
Change Management & Readiness
• Drive change management activities, including training strategy and user readiness
• Ensure documentation standards, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live support planning
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of ERP Project Management experience, with a strong focus on PeopleSoft Finance
• Demonstrated experience managing PeopleSoft Finance implementations within the CSU system
• Strong understanding of CSU financial processes and governance
• Experience leading ERP migrations from Oracle eBusiness Suite (eBiz) or similar legacy systems
• Proven ability to manage large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects
• Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
Preferred / Highly Desired Qualifications
• Prior CFS (Common Financial System) implementation experience (highly preferred)
• Experience working directly with CSU Chancellor's Office or multiple CSU campuses
• Hands-on understanding of PeopleSoft Finance modules:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Management (AM)
• Billing
• Commitment Control (KK)
• PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 and PeopleTools
