About the Role
The People & Culture consultant serves as a senior People Business Partner and strategic advisor to the VP of People & Culture and enterprise leaders. This role supports Clarvida’s people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and employee experience while ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Operating as an independent contractor, the People & Culture Consultant provides consultative leadership and expert guidance to support workforce strategy, organizational design, executive communications, and enterprise initiatives. The role translates business strategy into workforce and talent solutions aligned with Clarvida’s mission and core values while delivering insights that support informed leadership decision-making.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the VP of People & Culture and senior leaders on people strategy, organizational health, and leadership effectiveness
• Partner with senior and operational leaders to design and evolve organizational structures aligned with business strategy and future-state operating models
• Translate enterprise strategy into workforce plans, talent implications, succession strategies, and change roadmaps
• Advise leaders on leadership pipelines, critical role readiness, and succession planning
• Provide consultative people partnership support to corporate leaders and teams, including performance management guidance, talent reviews, engagement strategies, employee relations advisement, and change management support
• Coach senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, and navigating complex people challenges
• Support national People & Culture strategies aligned to organizational targets, objectives, and compliance standards
• Provide subject matter expertise in employee relations matters and advise leadership on documentation, investigation practices, and resolution strategies
• Champion employee experience initiatives that reinforce accountability, compassion, advocacy, inclusion, and resilience
• Collect, analyze, and report on key HR metrics including turnover, new hires, employee relations trends, and engagement surveys
• Ensure People & Culture policies, handbooks, and procedures align with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California compliance requirements
• Provide guidance to leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
• Communicate risks, roadblocks, and deviations from project timelines or compliance standards as needed
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to People & Culture team members to support leadership development and consistent service delivery
• Support workforce planning and resource allocation recommendations for the People & Culture function
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum eight (8) years of senior leadership experience in Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) or Employee Relations roles
• Demonstrated expertise in multi-state and California employment law
• Proven ability to influence organizational performance through strategic HR leadership and workforce planning
• Experience advising executive leadership on people strategy, organizational design, and employee relations matters
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
