Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers in physical and virtual environments
- Develop and maintain automation for routine tasks
- Monitor system performance
- Implement security hardening
- Analyze problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical environment
- Combine technical knowledge and communication skills to turn metrics into information
Skills
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining physical and virtual Linux servers, such as RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
- Experience developing and maintaining scripts in Bash or Python to automate repetitive tasks, backups, and deployments
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Linux+ Certification
- Experience with tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs
- Knowledge of implementing security measures, such as SELinux, firewalls, patching, and hardening to protect against threats and ensure compliance
