About Aircover and the Role
Aircover is an integral part of Airbnb's mission to provide a safe and enjoyable travel experience. As the Lead, Advanced Analytics for Aircover, you will be responsible for providing data-driven insights and recommendations to product and business leaders across the marketplace teams. Your expertise will enable Airbnb to make informed decisions, drive product analytics, and create scalable data tools that improve the experiences of our guests and hosts.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Thought Leadership: Serve as a data thought partner to product and business leaders, providing insights, recommendations, and enabling data-informed decisions.
- Product Analytics: Drive day-to-day product analytics and create scalable data tools that support business decisions.
- Pain Point Identification: Identify pain points in traveling and hosting, and work with product leadership to improve experiences for our guest and host community.
- Metrics and Dimensions Development: Build metrics and dimensions in the data warehouse to support business decisions.
- A/B Testing and Experimentation: Work closely with Product Managers and Business leads to design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests, understanding common pitfalls and caveats of experimentation.
- Performance Measurement: Define how to best measure the performance of Airbnb product and business through new metrics and dimensions, aligning with stakeholders and understanding tradeoffs and guardrails.
- Data Empowerment: Empower the team to answer data questions quickly and easily by building high-quality ground truth data sets and dashboards.
Essential Qualifications
- Industry Experience: 5+ years of industry experience in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).
- Education: A degree in a quantitative field; Master's or PhD is a plus.
- Communication and Collaboration: Expert communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge in at least one programming language (Python or R) and in SQL.
- Data Strategy: Ability to drive data strategies, with a central source of truth to impact business decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance Industry Experience: Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
- Customer Experience Measurement: Knowledge and experience in customer experience measurement is a plus.

Work Environment and Company Culture
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US, as long as you reside in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity. While remote, you may be required to attend occasional meetings or offsites at an Airbnb office.
