Junior Data Analyst

Hello, we are AMBOSS and we are looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our team!

AMBOSS is a learning and clinical decision support tool striving to empower physicians across the globe to provide the best possible care. Our founders set out in 2011 to create a tool that they would have hoped to have as medical students and doctors. Since then we have grown to currently operate in 180 countries and have gained immense traction in Germany and the US. Currently, we are pursuing this mission with more than 500+ employees in our offices in Berlin, Cologne, New York, and Cagliari.

Working side-by-side with Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Medical colleagues, you will turn a modern stack into reliable insights and scalable pipelines. Your contributions guide decisions that reach millions of learners and clinicians worldwide, directly advancing our mission to enable doctors to provide the best possible care.

Provide accurate dashboards, clean data, and first‑pass insights that help teams across all product domains make better decisions. Your contributions will improve user experience, adoption, and retention while accelerating your own analytical growth.

An entry‑level position in the data team. You’ll learn best practices in data extraction, visualisation, and experimentation under the guidance of experienced analysts.

• Build and maintain dashboards tracking key metrics across onboarding, engagement, clinical usage, and shop flows.

• Write and optimise basic SQL queries for ad‑hoc requests.

• Assist in event‑tracking implementation and data validation.

• Prepare datasets and run preliminary A/B‑test analyses.

• Document data sources, definitions, and processes.

• Join peer reviews and learning sessions to expand your toolkit.

• Up to 2 years of experience (internships or projects welcome) in data analysis or related fields.

• Solid SQL basics; exposure to Python, R, or similar.

• Understanding of descriptive statistics and curiosity about experimentation.

• A questioning mindset and the willingness to challenge assumptions, including your own.

• Good communication skills in English; German a plus.

• Spotting patterns in data and asking clear follow-up questions.

• Turning raw data into clear visuals and short explanations for stakeholders.

• Learning new tools and concepts quickly.

• Paying attention to detail and double-checking your numbers.

• Collaborating with others and giving or receiving feedback.
