We’re creating a digital guide focused on co-parenting and family communication. It covers themes like managing disagreements, setting boundaries, handling emotions/triggers, and getting support.
The full guide text is confidential at the moment, but we’re happy to share it with the right shortlisted candidate so you can understand the content properly and suggest where illustrations will fit best.
What we need
We need a consistent set of illustrations that all feel like they belong together (same style, same character design, same “look and feel”). This is a set/project, not random one-off images.
Who can apply
Illustrators
Designers who create illustration sets
AI-assisted creators / prompt creators (allowed) as long as the final outputs are consistent and high quality
New to Upwork is fine. We’ll consider profiles with little/no Upwork history if the work is strong and consistent. Everyone starts somewhere.
Key requirements (non-negotiable)
Consistency: no mixed styles, no style drift
Inclusive representation: across the set we need a natural mix of:
Different family structures (mum+dad, two mums, two dads, single parent, blended family)
Varied ethnicities/skin tones (including mixed-race)
Varied ages/body types
At least one visible accessibility aid (e.g., hearing aid, wheelchair, mobility aid)
Tone: calm, supportive, professional (not childish or comedic)
Simple backgrounds: we’ll handle most colour/styling in the website design
Estimated volume
Approx. 22–28 illustrations total:
~10 section header/hero illustrations (wide format)
~12–18 spot illustrations for callouts/exercises (simple/minimal)
Deliverables (must)
SVG (preferred)
PNG (transparent background, high-res)
Layered source files (AI/PSD or equivalent)
Organised folders + clear naming
Working style / expectations
We’re looking for someone who can think on their feet, take initiative, and propose sensible illustration ideas without needing to be micromanaged. You should be comfortable reading the guide text (once shared), identifying where visuals would add value, and suggesting a simple image plan before producing final artwork.
How we’ll choose
We’re selecting based on quality + consistency. Please include portfolio examples showing a consistent series/set (not single random images).
We will also ask selected candidates to confirm they’re willing to produce two demo/example pieces to prove they can maintain consistent quality and style flow. If the demos are strong and you want the work, we’ll move straight into the full set.
What to include in your proposal
Portfolio links showing consistent sets/series in one style
Your availability over the next 2–4 weeks
Turnaround time for ~25 illustrations
Pricing: per illustration and/or package price
Confirmation you can deliver SVG + PNG + layered source files
Confirm you’re comfortable producing 2 demo/example pieces
A short note on how you keep style consistent across a full set (especially if using AI tools)
Applications without portfolio links showing a consistent series will be ignored.
Screening Questions:
Share 2–3 examples where you produced a consistent set of illustrations in the same style.
Confirm you can supply SVG + PNG + layered source files, and we will have full rights to use/edit the work commercially.
Are you willing to produce 2 demo/example pieces to prove consistency and quality before we award the full set?
