Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in New York to join our team of dedicated professionals. Responsibilities
- Evaluate students' speech and language abilities through virtual assessments: Utilize your expertise to conduct comprehensive virtual assessments, identifying areas of strength and weakness in students' communication skills.
- Develop personalized therapy plans based on each student's goals: Create tailored therapy plans that cater to the unique needs and objectives of each student, ensuring they receive targeted support and guidance.
- Deliver evidence-based speech therapy sessions in a virtual setting: Leverage your knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality, engaging speech therapy sessions that promote student progress and achievement.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other team members to track progress and meet educational needs: Foster strong relationships with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication, coordination, and support for students.
- Document student progress and provide updates on therapy effectiveness: Maintain accurate, detailed records of student progress, providing regular updates on therapy effectiveness and making data-driven decisions to inform future interventions.
- Participate in virtual IEP meetings and offer input into students' educational plans: Contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' unique needs and goals, ensuring they receive comprehensive support and services.
- Provide training and guidance to educators and families on speech development strategies: Share your expertise with educators and families, empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to support students' communication development and progress.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology: A graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP): A valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology is essential for this role.
- New York educator certification required: A valid New York educator certification is required for this position.
- Minimum of two years' experience in school settings (clinical experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis): A minimum of two years' experience working in school settings is preferred, although clinical experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Experience with virtual therapy platforms preferred: Familiarity with virtual therapy platforms and technology is highly desirable, although training will be provided as needed.
- High-speed internet and updated computer for teletherapy services: A reliable high-speed internet connection and an updated computer are essential for delivering high-quality teletherapy services.
