About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Customer Support Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our Customer Experience team, you will play a pivotal role in defining and architecting products, algorithms, and data systems that are essential to the customer experience. Your primary focus will be on utilizing data, metrics, algorithms, and incentives to drive innovation and adaptability across the organization. This cross-functional position requires collaboration with core software systems throughout the association.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical designer for the teams within the Discovery contract, ensuring the quality of engineering and design of systems
- Practically break down complex issues into simple, straightforward solutions, and foster technical guides, frame future directions, and orchestrate technical advancements
- Analyze and improve data quality and metrics, and completely understand system interdependencies and constraints
- Apply internal and industry knowledge to make informed design decisions, and use technical influence over 50+ colleagues, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience
- Mentor on cutting-edge technical matters for professional development, and thrive in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment, achieving stretch goals
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- At least 4+ years of experience building large mobile systems, with a strong foundation in software development engineering
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, datastores (SQL, NoSQL), and the ability to pick the right technology based on requirements
- Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance across backend, frontend, and ML technologies
- Strong business judgment, demonstrated ability to influence others, and solid analytical thinking skills
- Extensive experience in mentoring junior designers to progress, and a pioneering spirit with the ability to have fun!
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Tech/B.E/Masters or a comparable degree from a reputable school, with at least 13 years of professional experience as a backend/full stack developer with hands-on experience in building highly scalable and performant distributed systems
- Any experience with ML, data science, or search in B2C (e-commerce, OTT) is an plus
