The Role: Math Instructor/Tutor

We're seeking an exceptional Math Instructor/Tutor to join our team at Mathnasium of Bayside. As a Math Instructor/Tutor, you'll play a critical role in creating an engaging and productive learning experience for our students. This is a part-time role with flexible hours, offering the perfect opportunity for individuals who are passionate about math and dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students, tailored to their individual needs and learning styles.
• Engage in positive interactions with parents, establishing a high level of confidence and program value.
• Become proficient in the use of digital educational materials and processes, ensuring seamless delivery of our Mathnasium Method^™.
• Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery, utilizing the Mathnasium Method^™, terminology, and teaching practices that include individualized instruction in a group setting.
• Assess student progress throughout instructional sessions, collaborating with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students.
• Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework, providing constructive feedback that supports their learning journey.
• Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive space for all students.
• Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the success of our team.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

• A passion for math and a proven track record of working effectively with students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
• Exceptional math competency, with a minimum proficiency through Algebra I.
• The ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• A willingness to learn and be trained in our Mathnasium Method^™, embracing our unique approach to math education.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly valued:

• Previous experience in teaching or tutoring math, particularly in an educational setting.
• A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
• Familiarity with our Mathnasium Method^™ or similar math education programs.
