Key Responsibilities
As a Home Care Practical Nurse at Amedisys, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate care to our patients. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Verifying the plan of care with the RN prior to each visit to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Collaborating with physicians and RNs to ensure patient needs are met, and notifying them promptly of any changes in patient condition.
- Teaching patients and caregivers self-care techniques to promote independence and confidence.
- Checking vital signs and reviewing medications to ensure patient safety and wellbeing.
- Performing specialized procedures ordered by physicians, such as foley catheter changes, using aseptic techniques.
- Preparing equipment and materials for treatments, and completing documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Requirements
To join our team as a Home Care Practical Nurse, you'll need:
- One year of clinical LPN experience, demonstrating your ability to provide high-quality patient care.
- A current LPN license specific to the state(s) you're assigned to work in, ensuring you're qualified to practice in your designated area.
- Current CPR certification, highlighting your commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest medical practices.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance, enabling you to travel to patient visits safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
