Job Summary
We are seeking a Full-Time Home Care Specialist to join our team in Beaverton, OR. As a Home Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing non-medical care and support to seniors in their homes. Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and conversation to clients, engaging in activities such as reading, playing games, and watching movies
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Remind clients of medication and appointments, and assist with medication management
- Provide care and support to clients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related conditions
- Treat clients and their property with dignity and respect, maintaining a safe and clean environment
- Communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner, responding to their needs and concerns
- Complete a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen as a condition of employment
- Possess a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance, with the ability to commute to client locations throughout our territory
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with seniors, either personally or professionally (experience preferred but not necessary, as skills training is provided by Home Instead)
- A strong commitment to providing compassionate and dignified care to seniors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances
- A valid driver's license and valid auto insurance, with the ability to commute to client locations throughout our territory
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience working in home care or a related field
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA)
- Experience working with clients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related conditions
- Ability to speak multiple languages, with the ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds
