**Primary Responsibilities**
As a Data Entry Specialist/Part-time (Remote), you'll be responsible for:
* Pulling and gathering data from relevant computer and electronic systems, software applications, and reference manuals
* Collecting data from online data sources and reviewing it to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Seeking clarifications or corrections to data from relevant stakeholders, including return of missing or incorrect documents and contact with stakeholders to gather additional data
* Prioritizing and assigning data entry or report requests to the appropriate personnel
* Manually entering and scanning relevant data using applicable systems or programs
* Reviewing entered data to identify errors or discrepancies prior to submission
* Ensuring data entry is performed in an accurate and timely manner according to internal standards
* Performing audits of submitted data entries and providing relevant feedback to team members to ensure ongoing quality and accuracy
* Facilitating corrections to incorrect data entry when applicable
* Reviewing system-generated reports to identify potential errors or discrepancies
* Generating and running reports to verify, correct, and update information
* Escalating challenging data entry problems or issues to management for resolution
* Adhering to internal workflows, business rules, policies, and procedures
* Demonstrating understanding of how relevant computer systems and platforms operate and integrate with one another
* Utilizing relevant software applications, including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook
* Staying abreast of changes to relevant workflows, policies, and procedures
* Educating internal team members on applicable changes to data entry procedures, tools, and systems
* Generating and running reports to provide business partners with relevant information
* Demonstrating understanding of applicable business departments' operations, drivers, and procedures
* Gathering and utilizing feedback from business partners to help identify and implement applicable changes or improvements
* Demonstrating knowledge of relevant data confidentiality guidelines, including HIPAA compliance
* Recognizing and reporting system and application problems to relevant partners
* Contacting internal partners to inform them of data entry errors and implications
* Demonstrating understanding of fundamental healthcare-related terminology, programs, and services
**Required Qualifications**
* High School diploma or GED
* 3+ years of data entry experience in a corporate or business setting, managed healthcare, hospital, or insurance environment
* Demonstrated proficiency in data collection/entry and reporting
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Management, or related degree
* Solid data management experience, preferably within managed care, referral management, patient appointing, and/or patient administration functions
* Solid data mining, analytical, and reporting skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
**Physical and Mental Requirements**
* Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
* Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
* Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
* Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem-solving
