Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and organizes Prescriber Evaluation Referral Forms (PERF) and gathers internal and external prescribing data to support the prescriber assessment process.
- Coordinates prescriber and patient mailings within unique time frames and creates and releases COMPASS and RHM communications.
- Generates ad hoc reports for the prescriber assessment team and assists in presentations to the Integrity and Patient Safety teams.
- Researches and analyzes managed substance orders placed manually at the store level to identify suspicious ordering patterns and takes appropriate actions to educate the user on proper ordering approaches.
- Builds ad hoc queries to pull data outside of regular reporting requirements and maintains up-to-date knowledge of issues such as managed substance ordering approaches, GFD policies, and DEA licensing requirements.
- Assists stores and field supervision with questions via email and contact on various related topics and collaborates with Pharmacy Managers and Supervisors to ensure that losses are reported within the required time frame and with 100% accuracy.
- Manages prescriber pricing decision system, validates and updates prescriber data, and collaborates with Pharmacists to ensure that any prescription blocking is legitimate.
- Researches and analyzes requests for increases to managed substance allocations and makes informed decisions based on collaboration with Pharmacy Managers, Supervisors, and item vendors.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and at least three years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Required certification in Certified Pharmacy Technician as granted by PTCB.
- Experience with prescriber licensing requirements (NPI, DEA, and state licenses).
- Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with querying databases and reading and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive the development of outcomes and find solutions.
- Experience communicating effectively (written and verbal) as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with internal Walgreens systems, including SIMS and IC+.
- Experience with managed substance ordering approaches within Walgreens (PDQs, RxQuick Order, and Passport).
