About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science & Analytics team, focusing on Customer Service. As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a crucial role in building reliable, scalable data pipelines, transforming raw data into core business metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth. Your expertise in big data technologies and data modeling will enable us to optimize our Customer Service investments, personalize our member experiences, and improve our products based on member feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and business owners to design and develop data pipelines using big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink
- Transform raw data into actionable business metrics and insights, leveraging your expertise in data modeling and SQL
- Work with custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights and drive data-driven decision-making
- Develop and maintain scalable data architectures that support medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
- Partner with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to identify business problems, prioritize projects, and develop solutions
- Write clean, supportable code in Python or Scala, and advocate for data quality and best practices
Essential Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies
- Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design adaptable structures that accommodate changes in source data or business processes
- Proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code
- Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of data quality principles
- Analytical aptitude, with the ability to think through business problems and prioritize projects autonomously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
