This position is within our Operations Performance and Analysis department, where you will be a key insightful and decision support resource for Operations Performance and Analysis and other business capabilities. You will also be instrumental in maintaining strong partnerships with Schedule and Network Planning groups. Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining decision support models using simulation and/or statistical techniques to address complex business issues.
- Supporting the flight schedule development, planning, and evaluation process by creating quantitative tools that address operational effectiveness and robustness.
- Driving the organization's long-term strategic and growth initiatives through simulation modeling and other related analysis.
- Building and maintaining quantitative models to assess, recommend, and promote operational efficiencies within the airport, airspace, and ATC environments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT departments, related business offices, and external vendors to ensure coordinated planning, assessment, and implementation of new decision support systems.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advances in analytical procedures and IT solutions that address complex airline business issues.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline (Operations Research, Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Applied Statistics, or a related field).
- In-depth knowledge and strong foundation in at least one of the following specific areas:
- Advanced optimization modeling techniques (LPs, MIPs, etc.) and experience building large-scale models using FICO Xpress, ILOG CPLEX, or similar.
- Building simulation models using AirTOP, SIMMOD, Arena, SIMIO, or similar.
- Statistical and machine learning procedures and experience applying predictive analytics to practical business issues.
- Solid foundation in programming and modeling languages (Java and SAS, R, or Python).
- Experience with extraction, cleansing, and analysis of large datasets to identify key trends and insights.
- Experience using data visualization software (Tableau or similar) to investigate and analyze data.
- Excellent interpersonal, social, and communication skills (both oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A postgraduate degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline (Operations Research, Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Applied Statistics, or a related field).
- Domain knowledge in the airline industry or other transportation-related field.
- Familiarity with Big Data approach, technology, and related data query tools.
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL, and other related software.
- Solid business acumen, technical learning/development mindset, and a drive for results.
- Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and as a team member, handle multiple tasks, and respond effectively to changing needs.
