The customer service representative role is a vital part of our organization, providing support to students and families navigating the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process. About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced customer service representative to join our team for a temporary summer employment opportunity. As a customer service representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for participating in high-volume outbound and inbound call campaigns, answering customer questions, and providing exceptional support to students and families. Key Responsibilities Participate in high-volume outbound and inbound call campaigns based on assigned call lists, ensuring timely and effective communication with customers. Adhere to approved call scripts and compliance guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of customer service and professionalism. Respond to customer questions and concerns in a empathetic and supportive manner, providing clear and concise information to resolve issues efficiently. Utilize software, scripts, and tools appropriately to document customer interactions and maintain accurate records. Employ active listening skills to understand customer needs and provide personalized support, ensuring a positive experience for all customers. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required, with a strong foundation in customer service principles and practices. Four to six months of customer service experience in a call center environment, with a proven track record of providing exceptional support to customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone voice and etiquette. Ability to follow instructions and scripts, with a strong attention to detail and adherence to compliance guidelines. Skilled in active listening, with a empathetic and supportive approach to customer interactions. Proficient with computers, with good typing skills and experience with software applications. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a college financial aid office or administrative office, with a strong understanding of the FAFSA process and higher education landscape. Knowledge of college financial aid and admissions processes, with a ability to provide informed support to customers. Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with a strong ability to self-motivate and manage time effectively.
