Key Responsibilities

Respond to telephone and email inquiries from members and providers in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that all interactions meet our defined service standards.

Negotiate with providers to gain acceptance for plans without network agreements and/or out-of-network providers, utilizing your excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Assist members with benefits and healthcare questions, providing clear and concise information to ensure they have a thorough understanding of their options.

Document all calls received in our system-based call log, ensuring that all interactions are accurately recorded and easily accessible for future reference.

Take initiative to resolve situations and accomplish project actions and tasks, demonstrating your ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Build strong relationships with internal and external customers, including members, providers, and other stakeholders, to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college or higher education preferred.

One year of customer service or call center experience in a healthcare-related role, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare concepts.

Medical Intake or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) experience preferred, with knowledge of provider organizations and networks.

Bilingual English-Spanish skills are a plus, as well as experience with insurance verification, pre-certification, and claim processing.

Strong appreciation and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, with excellent data entry and typing skills.

Proficient with Microsoft applications, strong computer skills, and computer navigation, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with CMS Medicare reimbursement rates and the ability to effectively negotiate rate structures.

Knowledge of Self-Funded health benefits and understanding of provider office/facility billing department or financial area.
