Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Engineer for our Enterprise Workflows group. As a key member of our team, you will utilize your expertise to enhance, collaborate, and influence engineering teams across all of Apple. Your primary focus will be on delivering a comprehensive and effective enterprise experience for administrators, employees, and third-party developers. This position can be remote from any city across the US, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, prioritize, and execute product development discussions and guide functional requirements to technical plans and a project schedule.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and processes.
- Review designs and implementations created by software and automation engineers, serving as a trusted and useful partner in technical conversations.
- Communicate and drive decisions (written and oral) on various aspects, such as user experience, technical design, privacy, and security.
- Build tools and workflows that help engineers understand their project's impact on managed enterprise and educational environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Client Experience, Marketing, Product, and Support, to build seamless and robust enterprise-level products.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- 3+ years of experience delivering and managing Macs, iPads, iPhones, and Apple TVs in a variety of enterprise (Non-profit, Startup, Financial Services, etc.) and educational (K12, Higher Ed, etc.) organizations.
- Familiarity with device management solution landscape, specifically ones used to configure macOS devices.
- Advanced programming skills in Swift, Python, Go, Objective-C, or similar languages.
- In-depth experience with Apple enterprise technologies, such as Apple Business Manager, Mobile Device Management Profile, Apple Configurator, Device Enrollment Program, and more.
- Complete understanding of software development and quality assurance lifecycles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Awareness of Apple Management Platforms and Mobile Device Management Solutions across different deployment types, including Open Source, Paid Solutions, and Managed Solution Providers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to continuous personal growth.
- Experience emphasizing the automation of repeatable tasks and tests through CI/CD platforms and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 5+ years of experience in a related field, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
- Experience working with Agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
