Job Overview
In this role, you will be part of the Center Systems administration group, responsible for designing and improving the next generation of networking technology. You will work on developing operating system networking components across Apple's range of products, including macOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Your expertise in networking protocols, API design, and system-level programming will be essential in driving the success of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop networking software and hardware products, with a focus on performance, efficiency, usability, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Develop and maintain networking APIs, protocols, and interfaces
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues using various tools and techniques
- Stay up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to improve our products and services
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong foundation in computer systems, networking, and software development
- Experience creating business networking software and/or hardware products, with a focus on TCP/IP and related networking technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Objective-C
- Comprehensive knowledge of the TCP/IP suite of protocols, including IPv6
- Experience with BSD/Linux network stack and network troubleshooting tools
