They are seeking an Engineer-In-Training or Technician in Networks and Telecommunication to contribute to the design of telecommunication and network systems, assist senior engineers, and develop client relationships while gaining hands-on experience in industrial telecom and digital infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to industrial IT, network, and telecom infrastructure design for mining, energy and industrial sectors
- Prepare technical deliverables as part of preliminary and detailed engineering design
- Assist senior engineers on client site work (survey, pre-commissioning, commissioning, etc) related to network and telecom design
- Contribute to project scope development, proposals, cost estimates, and budgets
- Identify client needs for new opportunities or ongoing projects
- Develop and maintain lasting relationships with clients while meeting their high expectations
- Develop your professional network to generate business opportunities
Skills
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in electrical engineering, computer science, telecommunications or another relevant field
- 1-4 years of experience in Information Technology or another relevant field
- Knowledge of networking concepts (OSI, TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, Spanning Tree, SD-WAN, MPLS, etc.)
- Experience with wired and/or wireless, LAN, MAN, WAN network architecture
- Experience with network equipment (Cisco, Fortinet, HPE, Aruba, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.)
- Knowledge of fiber and copper structure cabling
- Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies (HPE, Dell, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, NAS, etc.)
- Familiarity with Operational Technologies (OT), such as industrial control systems, SCADA, and PLCs
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration and Active Directory
- Certifications in Network and Cybersecurity (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) and familiarity with IT/OT frameworks and standards (e.g., IEC 62443, IEC 61850)
- Bilingual (English and French)
