As a Preschool Promise Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our young students. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $16.71 to $17.99 per hour, and we are looking for someone who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our children.

Key Responsibilities

As a Preschool Promise Education Assistant, you will work closely with our teaching staff to support the educational and developmental needs of our young students. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting teaching staff with instructional tasks, including working with students in small groups and one-on-one settings
• Maintaining accurate records and assisting with record keeping, copying, filing, and grading assignments
• Supervising students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and before/after school
• Assisting with the development of educational materials and maintaining classroom supplies
• Communicating effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians
• Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
• Participating in in-service trainings and staff meetings as required

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

• An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent (72 quarter hours) from a college or technical school, or the ability to pass the district's assessment demonstrating knowledge of, and the ability to assist in reading, writing, and math
• Prior successful experience working in a school setting or with children is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess the following preferred qualifications:

• Experience with database software, educational software, and online programs, spreadsheets, and word processing software
• Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card
• Certificates as determined by the District, including meeting current No Child Left Behind certification requirements

Work Environment

Our Early Learning Center is a dynamic and engaging environment that is designed to support the unique needs of our young students. As a Preschool Promise Education Assistant, you will work in a classroom setting with a mix of structured and unstructured activities. You will be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and may be exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.
