We are looking for early childhood educators currently teaching or working with children aged 4–6 to read and test a picture book manuscript in a real classroom setting.
This is part of the development process before pursuing publication. We are specifically seeking educators based in:
• United States
• Canada
• United Kingdom
• Australia
• New Zealand
What you’ll do:
• Read the story aloud to your class or literacy group
• Observe children’s reactions during the reading
• Provide written feedback afterward
We are not looking for a long academic report. However, we do want more than a simple “they liked it.”
Your feedback should include:
• How engaged were the children?
• Did they join in with repetition or rhyme?
• Did they seem surprised, confused, excited at key moments?
• Were they able to discuss the characters or plot afterward?
• Any memorable comments or reactions from the children
• Your professional opinion on age suitability and read-aloud quality
A thoughtful summary of 400–700 words is ideal.
Important note:
We have illustration concepts, but they are not yet in final book format. You may need to read from one device and show images from another, or print them out if preferred.
Compensation:
$50 per classroom session and feedback report.
If applying, please include:
• Your current role
• Age group you teach
• Approximate group size
• Country/location
We value honest, real-world insight from educators actively working with this age group.
